Intro
You'll graduate from the Launch Lab with clarity, confidence, momentum and a plan, plus conversations already underway.
Launch Lab runs during the semester, so you don't finish the term starting from zero. You will have a target list, a pipeline, and people who already know your name.
Six sessions. Each one builds on the last. Between sessions, you build your pipeline: real companies, real people, real conversations, at a pace that works alongside your classes.
The six sessions
1) You are a Brand. Let's sharpen what it stands for.
You already know you want to work in advertising. The question is what kind of creative you are and where you fit best. We build your Personal Brand Creative Brief, then sort the industry into buckets: big agencies, indie shops, in-house teams, brands you love. A recruiter sees 100 portfolios and has 10 minutes. You want to be the one with a clear point of view.
2) Own your story.
Your resume is a thesis: direction at the top, evidence below. We translate your experience into the language of the job you want, then run the five-second test on your LinkedIn. Can a stranger tell what you want to do next?
3) Research like a recruiter.
Most jobs are never posted. Using the same tools and logic a recruiter uses, you'll build a target list of 15–20 companies and find the people inside them. The hidden job market stops being a mystery.
4) Reach out without being weird.
Networking isn't schmoozing. It's curiosity. You're making a documentary, and you need to interview 25 people to figure out who's in your film. We write your messages together, live, and you'll leave with 3 sent and tracked.
5) Turn conversations into a stronger resume/book.
The people you talk to will tell you exactly what they're looking for. We bring what you've learned back to your materials, with live recruiter reviews on screen, seen the way a hiring team sees them.
6) Interview, Negotiate, Keep Going.
An interview isn't a test. It's a conversation between two people figuring out if there's a fit. We do real mock interviews, cover thank-you notes and follow-ups, then get to the money: know your number and own your timeline. You'll leave with a plan for the rest of the semester and winter break, so the momentum keeps building while you're still in school.
You'll leave with:
Your Personal Brand Creative Brief: what kind of creative you are and why a recruiter should remember you

Launch Lab
Instructor: Samantha Glatzer
Hi, I'm Sam — an ICF Certified Coach (ACC), trained through Brown University's ACT program, and a former recruiter in advertising, marketing, branding, and design.
I've supported students from Syracuse, Brown, Wesleyan, UT Austin, Northeastern, Delaware, Hamilton, Emerson, Ithaca, and Binghamton through the transition from college to career.
Before coaching, I placed early-career talent at agencies like Wieden+Kennedy, Mother, BBDO, Droga5, Ogilvy, and Landor, and at companies including Apple, Google, Lyft, CAA, and Brooks Running.
I’ve reviewed thousands of resumes and portfolios and worked directly with hiring managers which means I know exactly what gets someone filtered out in 10 seconds, and exactly what makes a recruiter stop and pay attention.
The Launch Lab is built from everything I've learned — on both sides of the hiring table.
